Many Styles of Telephone Headsets

Telephone headsets come in many different styles to fit all head sizes and telephones.

Many people feel that they will lose some of the clarity by using a headset, but this actually adds to the clarity and reduces some of the static, especially in cell phones.

Among the users of cell phone headsets, the least popular style is the over the head format.

While it is very comfortable on the head, it cannot fit into a coat pocket or the glove compartment in a vehicle.

There are two main styles of headsets that telephone users prefer to use. These are:

• In the Ear headsets. These headsets do not have a headband and are easy to fit into a pocket, a purse or the glove box of a vehicle. This design also blocks out more noise so it is easier to hear the person you are talking to.
  
  
  
  There are two types of microphones that you can use with this type of headset. The dangle microphone dangles from the speaker, but picks up a lot of background noises. The other type of microphone for headsets is the boom microphone. It is closer to your mouth, which helps to isolate the noises around you.

• On the Ear headsets. These headsets are easy to put on and take off. This is the type of headset that cell phone users like to use while driving. Since they stick over the ear rather than in the ear, they are more comfortable.
  
  
  
  There is no headband, so you don′t have to worry about getting your hair messed up when using this headset for the telephone.
