Motorcycle Communication Head Sets Motorcycle Headsets

Different Kinds of Motorcycle Headsets

Motorcycle headsets are a necessity when you are riding a motorcycle whether you are on a busy highway or a small country road. The helmets, themselves, offer great protection for your head if you should happen to be unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident.

These helmets contain headsets that allow people to communicate with one another. If you are travelling in a group of motorcycles, the headsets allow you to communicate with other riders to ensure that there are no problems and to coordinate rest stops and coffee breaks. These headsets have microphones that are very comfortable to wear and use.

Motorcycle communication head sets are also a necessity in motorcycle helmets when there are two people on the motor cycle. They need the headsets to be able to talk to each other without the driver having to turn around to talk to the passenger. You need to have a microphone in the headset and there are three types that you can choose from:

  • Standard boom - this microphones slips between the shell and the liner
  • Small boom - because it is not always possible to slip the microphone between the shell and the liner, the small boom microphones pushes up toward the front of your mouth between the chin and the liner.
  • Velcro microphone - this fits internally into the motorcycle shell or you can slide it into place afterwards.

The earpieces for the communication head sets are also available in several types:

  • D shell
  • Flexible D shell
  • Soft D shell
  • Velcro mounted

You can also get combined head sets that fit into the helmets when you purchase either the single or double Velcro mounted earpieces.
