Wireless Lightweight Headphones Headphones for Sporting Events

Headphones for Sporting Events - Why Commentators Need to Use Them!

The headphones for sporting events you see the commentators wearing at hockey games and football games are necessary for them to block out the sounds of the fans and broadcast the play by play of the game to millions of fans.

They wear the head sets to be able to hear each other and talk back and forth in a normal voice.

Without these headsets, you would really have to turn down the volume on your TV set because the commentators would have to shout at each other to be heard.

The head sets that they wear today are a lot different from what they used to wear in the past. A thin adjustable band with a microphone close to the mouth has replaced the heavy, bulky head set.

Sports Announcers

Professional announcers need to wear wireless lightweight headphones because they have to be in constant contact with the camera crew.

There are a lot of preparations that take place on the set of a sport that will be seen on TV. These include:

  • A sound check to ensure that the commentators hear the production crew
  • A sound check to ensure that the commentators can talk to one another
  • A check to ensure that the head sets of the commentators are properly secured
  • A check to make sure that the microphone of each head set will pick up the voice clearly
  • A check to make sure that the head sets are free of static

Most of the commentators wear wireless headsets because they are lightweight and thus do not feel heavy on their heads. They don′t have to clamp very hard to the head to be able to stay in place. The band of the wireless sets is adjustable so it can fit just about any size head.
